Run the business
Costs, cash flow and a final operating simulation.
Technical skill without a seasonal budget is still a hobby. This module puts grade, volume, recovery, fuel, maintenance and labour into a cash-flow model, then stresses that model until it breaks.
Students build a break-even grade and a seasonal plan. They then respond to a grade miss, a component failure and a water event in one final simulation — the same pile-up that ends real seasons. The last product is a 90-day action plan, not a souvenir binder.

Field connection
The simulation is fed by the same observations collected on site: haul distances, water constraints, recovery questions and maintenance realities. The business model has to survive contact with the mine.
